Qi (aka: Ki, Chi), is an "energy force" that exists everywhere in the world,
including inside our body. The flow of Qi in humans is familiar to anyone
has seen the lines on the body of an acupuncture chart or model. Most
acupuncturists are of the opinion that these Qi meridians exist as a
separate system, though sometimes in conjunction with the nerve and blood
systems. These energy channels are named after our body's different organs
but this is only to describe a system of how one portion of the body works.
Accupuncture is the placing of very minute and sterile stainless steel needles into accupuncture pressure points around the body. The needle may be inserted from 1/5 of an inch to 3 inches into our body depending on the part of the body and treatment. In muscular therapy acupuncture the idea is to improve blood circulation and balance energy flow in our body to balance bodily functions (yin and yang) and gradually removes aches and pains. Although the aches and pains are located at specific points in the body, this approach does not focus on any one point of pain because it regards the different parts of the body as a whole. Acupressure and massage therapy is used to assist in childbirth and treat infertility, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer's disease, asthma, allergy, various orthopedic problems — and to stop smoking. Self regulation therapy is based on the latest neuroscience research. It is the one of the most effective therapies for reducing painful emotional and /or physical symptoms. Treatment leaves you feeling better able to handle day to day stresses.
